IS TITUS STUPID OR WHAT??
Titus never thinks for himself . He thinks he's thinking for himself, but really he's not thinking at all. the "thing" that's doing all the thinking for him is his feed. Titus' feed is telling him what to think, what to say, and what to do. This does affect Titus' intelligence and personality because from out all of his friends he is actually questioning why they are doing stupid things like going to the Ricochet Lounge when it's not even fun or when Link and Marty are being stupid. For example the feed suggested that Violet's spine is "supple" on page 14. When Titus' parents told him that they were going to get him a upcar Titus was so happy and excited to get it. On page 118 Titus said to his parents " You are the best mom and dad ever". This is normal for him to feel like this because he's a teenager and when you get something new and cool you get very excited about it. So i could understand why Titus said that to his parents. One thing i question is that how come Titus can buy anything like from clothing, taking a vacation to the moon and etc. How come he didn't but himself a car a long time ago? I guess Anderson wanted us readers to have a connection to these teenager. To have a connection that we can relate to and know how they feel. Through out the book i do think that Violet is doing wrong doings too. First of all I thought that is she was smarter at the age of seven she shouldn't have got the feed. Secondly Violet shouldn't be saying anything about the feed because she also have one and she isn't really resisting the feed. I think that if she wanted to resist the feed she shouldn't use the feed. We know that Violet thinks that the group of friends are stupid for doing stupid things, but she chooses to go and hang out with them. This is why i think that Violet is doing wrong things when she accuses other people.
